I thought it's going to be an exciting fight, really, after seeing all those videos from Youtube, but then Valero has a problem-- he is ineligible to fight in the United States because he failed the required MRI exam for boxers(he suffered from a motorcycle accident before he turned professional).

The big question therefore is: will Pacquiao get out of his comfort zone and fight outside of the Philippines and the US? It seems like he's already graduated from fighting in Japan, but will he go back there so as to face a worthy fighter like Valero?

Of course I'm rooting for Manny Pacquiao. I just thought it's going to be one hell of a fight. But again, after Pacquiao fights Marquez in Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort at Las Vegas this coming March 15, 2008, there are already talks of his fight with Ricky Hatton, the British fighter. (What? Hatton? Isn't he too big for Manny?) So, not only does he graduate from fighting in Japan, he also moves out of his title as the Mexican Assassin, that is, after finishing off Marquez in March, which I'm sure he will. Anyway, that means Valero must not be anywhere near Pacquiao's table as of the moment.

And to think Valero is really eager to take a shot and duel with Manny's power and speed. Who doesn't?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8299627375940527630.post-26814654766783901812008-01-09T16:54:00.000-08:002008-01-09T16:55:45.742-08:00Fight Records of Edwin ValeroI found a good website where all Valero fight information are placed.

Copy this to your browser.

http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=122183&cat=boxerUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8299627375940527630.post-20054132037496813572008-01-09T16:51:00.000-08:002008-01-09T16:53:53.660-08:00Edwin Valero BiographyThis came from Wikipedia:

Name: Edwin Valero
Career Record: 23 Wins, 0 Losses (23 Knock Outs)
Alias: El Inca / Dinamita
Nationality: Venezuela
Birthplace: Bolero Alto, Merida, Venezuela
Hometown: Tokyo, Japan
Born: 1981-12-03
Stance: Southpaw
Height: 5′ 7″

Edwin "Dynamite" Valero started boxing at around age 12, compiling a reported amateur record of 86-6 with 57 kayos. (But, after his second pro fight Valero himself claimed just 45 kayos: "Soy estilista y también pego duro. En amateur gané 86 peleas y propiné 45 nocauts".) He was Venezuelan amateur champion three years running, as well as Central and South American champion (beating Francisco Bojado).

Prior to turning pro, on Feb 5, 2001, Valero was in a severe motorcycle accident, in which he fractured his skull, forcing surgery to remove a blood clot.

Valero claims that his Venezuelan doctor cleared him to fight on Jan 17, 2002 and he turned pro that July with a first-round kayo. After posting a record of 11-0 (11 first round knockouts) in the United States, Valero ran into trouble.

In January 2004, he failed an MRI in New York and thus was not allowed to fight in the United States, although he continues to battle outside the United States. He will not be allowed to fight in the United States until he clears his medical tests with a state athletic commision.

In 2006, Valero broke a boxing record which stood for 100 years. In 1906, Young Otto set a record when he won 16 straight boxing matches by first round knockout; Edwin Valero won 18 straight fights in the first round. " In my matches, I focus on winning, but I'm not going for knockouts," said Valero. In March, 2006, Valero's streak was snapped in his 19th bout when he stopped his foe in the second.

Edwin Valero has decided to make Japan his base of operations, and lives in Tokyo with his wife and children.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8299627375940527630.post-77718484009224331542008-01-09T16:43:00.000-08:002008-01-09T16:45:32.305-08:00Edwin Valero vs Zaid ZavaletaFight Info:
Latest Fight of Valero (23 Wins, 23 KOs)

3rd Round TKO time: 1:18
2007-12-15
Plaza de Toros, Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico
WBA super featherweight title

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8299627375940527630.post-21270977631008269312008-01-09T16:42:00.001-08:002008-01-09T16:43:10.299-08:00Edwin Valero vs Randy SuicoSparring Session

Di na sumusuntok si Randy.
